Understand What Oils You want to Mix

First, you need to figure out the type of oils that you want to mix and their order. Depending on the type of perfume you want to use, you may want to focus on a specific mixing order.

It’s a very good idea to focus on finding the best oils according to your mood, then consult online journals for any specifics.

Opt For a Darker Colored Bottle

Why is that? Because you are keeping the light out of the bottle and your DIY essential oil perfume will last for a lot more time.

If you have a roller bottle, that can work too. It’s not mandatory, but it may be a good investment depending on the situation.

Also, once you add the essential oils in the bottle, do let them meld for a while.

How to Make the DIY Essential Oil Perfume Spray Recipes?

First, you have to add the base note. This will be very important, as it allows you to set the tone for the perfume.

Depending on the situation, this note needs to be around 5-20% of the entire blend. You can opt for sweet almond oil, rose essential oil or even grapefruit oil. These are great base notes.

Afterward, you will carefully need to apply the middle note/s. You can use things like the ginger essential oil, lime essential oil or even some Ylang Ylang oil.

These are very powerful, and they can have a floral scent if you want. It’s up to you to pick the right note, but do remember that it has to be a distinct and powerful one.

The top note needs to be added at the end. You can easily experiment with a variety of top notes.

Keep in mind that your DIY essential oil perfume should not have a very powerful top note, as this tends to wear off and it lets the middle note to shine. So, what can you opt for here?

Sandalwood, vanilla or even some lavender if you want! Floral options can be pretty good too; you are the one to pick what works for you and what you like the most.

Things to Keep in Mind

Since this is a DIY essential oil perfume, you will have to add alcohol for a preservative. The idea is to make sure that your scent will last longer, and the alcohol can help with this.

Also, do remember to shake your perfume before you use it, just to make sure that all scents are combined adequately.

It’s up to you to find the right oils for your DIY essential oil perfume spray, but you can make a very good one with a bit of effort.
